Nowadays FOCUS is the KEY element of success. In the beginning, we are highly motivated when we create our goal or dream about. But how long we stay motivated is the big question. We are constantly distracted by so many things like social media, doubts, other tasks, and overall we get stuck or frustrated.

One thing we should clear in our mind is that our future depends on our focus and our determinations. So our focus must be clear. If we want to achieve our goals, we should increase our ability to focus on our goals. We should not waste our energy on focusing on negative things or negative outcomes but we should give our full focus on a desirable outcome. 



There are some techniques that you can apply in your life to avoid getting distracted from your goal. If you have a plan to stay focused and you will not distract from your focus, It becomes easier to achieve your goal.

1) Set SMART Goals:

Goal setting is a very necessary part of life. We have to set S.M.A.R.T. goals. That means Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-based goals. 

Your goal should be very clear and specific, so it makes it easier to achieve. It will help you to know how and where you get started. Your goal should be measurable that You can easily track it. So you can easily see your progress. Your goal should be Achievable that you can able to take action to achieve it. Your goals should be Realistic that are challenging yet attainable within the given timeframe. Your goal should be time-related that have a deadline. It will help you to know when you will get it done. 

2) Write down your goal or create a vision board:

The creation of a vision board or write down your goals will surely help you to stay focused on your goals. You can take a poster card or any other card and fill it with pictures and images of your goal that help you to maintain your passion and focus. You can try a digital vision board also.

A vision board helps you to see your success and you know it is the result of your dedication and commitment. We are what we think, so when we see the images our brain will think what we see in the images. So your vision board must be clear and choose the perfect images that you want. You have to see the vision board or images with full faith, full confidence and you should enjoy your dream. This will give an impact on your "subconscious" mind about your goal and you will start passionately work on your goal. 

When you daily or regularly looking at images of your goals or visualizing them, you are priming your subconscious mind. You are telling me that these are important to you. Your subconscious mind is more likely to draw your attention to it, which helps you to stay focused on your goals.

Nowadays social media is a big distraction for all of us. Distractions and constant multi-tasking can interrupt when we are focusing on our goals. It will reduce our productivity and reduce our ability to retain anything we have learned.  You may turn off all notifications of smartphones and desktop applications. 

Many situations do come up which look like emergencies and we have to deal with them. But the majority of situations do come up and distracts us. So we do not require to respond the right way. Do not waste your time solving the situations because some situations will resolve themselves on their own time.

Identify the most important goal you need to work on and put them on a separate list but do not discard other remaining goals. It will help you to stay focused on your key goals.

When you are setting a goal, you will find that you have created a large number of goals. Not all goals are created equally, some are crucial while others are minor. You need to remember is that any big goal worth achieving requires a high level of energy and resources. It will distribute your power or energy and money too if you work on too many goals at a time. So, you should give your full energy and focus on your key goals.

Large goals can overwhelm you, which causes you to lose confidence and motivation. So you should break down big goals into smaller pieces that can be accomplished more easily. As a result, this may only require a focus on smaller tasks that you need to complete. When you completed your smaller tasks, your confidence will increase and you realize that you are one step closer to your goal.

Most big goals take some time to achieve and sometimes it becomes too beyond your control. As a result, you will lose focus on your goal and sometimes you get frustrated. If you break down your goal into smaller ones, these smaller goals are under your control and you will give your best to achieve those smaller goals.

One simple method to track your progress is to keep a record or writing journal. When you write about your goal, your experience, and your feeling, it will motivate you till the end. Your feedback on your progress is most important. If you regularly measuring and tracking your progress, you will find the problem in any and you will make necessary changes to stay focused on your goals.
